‘KGF: Chapter 2’ box office collection day 9: Another splendid Friday despite the Shahih Kapoor starrer ‘Jersey’ – Times of India

The Hindi version of ‘KGF: Chapter 2‘ has managed to remain unfazed to an extent by the release of ‘Jersey’. Having enjoyed a free run in its first week of release, ‘KGF 2‘ (Hindi) had to lose a lot of the screen space – especially the multiplexes – to the Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer. However, the latest numbers revealed by Box Office India suggest that ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has had yet another fruitful Friday across the Hindi belt.

According to the reports, ‘KGF 2’ -Hindi has collected Rs. 11.25 crores (nett) on day #9 (Friday, April 22nd) and has taken its total tally to Rs. 274 cr. With the second weekend too looking strong and prospective for the film, the Rs. 300 cr. mark is certainly on the cards by the end of Sunday.

The next target for the Hindi version would be the ‘Dangal’ numbers (Rs. 374 cr.) across the Hindi belt and one can expect the film to surpass the Aamir Khan starrer over the course of the next few weeks. The summit, of course, would be’Baahubali – The Conclusion‘ which collected close to Rs. 510 cr. with its Hindi version alone and while the prospects look tough for ‘KGF 2’ to catch up, it would be interesting to see how close the two films end up. Among the highest-grossing Indian films to date, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ stands at #8 (all versions) with close to Rs. 800 cr. worldwide collections.
